Flash preloaders come in handy to show your visitors that your movie is still loading. This should go a long way in helping them realise that there is something on the page even though they cannot yet see it. It also keeps your visitor amused for a short time and stops them closing the page or quickly moving on to the next website.

As the size of your flash file increases, so too does the time it takes to load it. Visitors to your site may get irritated if they have to wait for the animation to load. Using a preloader can help that. It will load all the necessary pieces prior to displaying the animation. It will also show its progress so visitors will be able to see how much is loaded and hopefully wait for it to finish!

Let's say you want to put your movie on the web, you would also want to use a preloader to inform the user of the downloading progress. Preloaders are very popular and pretty easy to create in Flash.

A nice preloader, easy to use, instructions included. Just drop the preloader Movie Clip inside the first frame of your movie. It is coded for Actionscript 2.0 and it is easy to customize.
